TLD - oven

Annealing oven for thermo luminescent dosimeter
The TLD annealing oven is controlled by a programmable microprocessor and
has been specially developed for thermoluminescent dosimetry. Reproducible
heating procedures for thermoluminescent dosimeters are essential to maintain
constant sensitivity and low background readings. The oven is udes for the
annealing of TLD’s before irradiation (program 1) and for preheating after
irradiation and before reading by a TLD reader (program 2).
The TLD annealing oven contains a programmed heating element producing a
temperature controlled hot air stream. A built –in fan circulates the hot air and
ensures an equal temperature distribution throughout the oven volume. The
thermal gradient problems often encountered with conventional ovens are
avoided. The risk of errors arising from nonreproducible annealing is greatly
reduced by the automatic annealing program. The programmed temperature
cycles include heating and cooling phases.
The TLD annealing oven can be used in conjunction with all existing TLD
readers, in particular for the annealing of chips, ribbons and rods. For the
annealing procedure the thermoluminescent material is placed on trays of
stainless steel which fit in the oven.
